Knowledge is Power!

“In order to teach younger generations about the history and contributions of Laramie’s Latino community, a group is raising money to paint a mural inside the Lincoln Community Center.

The mural will represent the lives of Mexican-Americans who grew up in Laramie during the last century. It will show the challenges they faced in dealing with prejudices, but it will also offer an inspiring message of hope, said Connie Coca, chairwoman of the mural committee.

“It will include the experiences and the challenges that people have faced in Laramie,” Coca said. “Also it will show that Mexican-Americans are figures of success here.”"
