Area Hispanics back on job after one-day walkout in Central Oregon

“Things were returning to normal at Central Oregon schools and businesses Tuesday as Hispanics went back to their jobs and classes after a one-day walkout, part of the nationwide “A Day Without Immigrants” protests.

“Everyone’s back - and away we go,” said Dave Krajczynski, general manager of Green Thumb Inc., a landscaping business in Redmond and Madras that has 18 employees, 16 of them Hispanic.”
