“Shakira danced and reggaeton ruled at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Shakira, the Colombian pop songstress, won six awards and reggaeton pacesetter Daddy Yankee took home three prizes at Thursday night’s awards.

Reggaeton - a mix of tropical rhythms, reggae, hip-hop and rap - also was the theme of the show’s final performance, which featured Tito ”El Bambino,” Angel y Khriz and Wisin & Yandel rapping among gyrating dancers and flashy pyrotechnics. “
