“Latino activists in Houston and at least 70 cities around the country plan a ”Day Without an Immigrant” today in demand of amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants living in the United States.
Their immediate goal is to stop what they consider legislation hostile to their people, but the protesters also want to serve notice to the U.S. public and its leaders that the swelling Latino population has birthed a new political reality.”
