8 of Perdue’s 14 plants closed for immigration boycott day

“Immigrant protests across the country led Perdue Farms Inc., the nation’s third-largest chicken producer, to close more than half its processing plants.

The company closed eight of its 14 processing plants because of anticipated absences on Monday’s economic protests, when illegal immigrants and their allies encouraged work boycotts to show the immigrants’ importance to the economy.”
