Hispanic fears hold back mass transit in Fellsmere, Florida

“Hispanic residents here said their community needs public transportation, but they’ll have to overcome their distrust of authority figures as the nation is debating immigration reform.

Indian River County officials went to Fellsmere City Hall on Wednesday night to talk about bringing Indian River Transit to the city. Phil Matson, assistant director of the Metropolitan Planning Organization, said he’ll need more information from the community before the transit system tries a trial route in Fellsmere.”
