Mid-Hudson Valley immigrants to observe May 1 boycott, plan march and rally. New York

“Immigrants want equality and a path towards U.S. citizenship, according to a coalition of Mid-Hudson Valley immigrant groups that are planning a march and rally in Poughkeepsie on May 1st in conjunction with the national “Day Without an Immigrant.”

Local immigrant-owned businesses will also honor the national boycott that will occur on that day. “All of the Latino businesses in Poughkeepsie will be closed on May 1,” said Francisco del Moral of the Benito Juarez Hispanic Association and himself a business owner.”
