“The South steps of the Sacramento State Capitol will be the site this Friday, April 28th, at 11:00 am of a mass rally uniting middle-class handicapped and disabled injured workers with Latino undocumented workers.

“We stand shoulder to shoulder, this is our Alamo, we will not give in to vile, conniving and despicable attorneys who want to strip away workers compensation benefits from undocumented workers,” cited Barbara Clark, a registered nurse with a long history of caring for indigent workers.

“The Latino community should support and endorse the Worker Empowerment Act ballot initiative that would give undocumented workers the right to sue employers with unsafe working conditions,” she continued. If successful the ballot initiative would place the Worker Empowerment Act on the California November statewide ballot. The biggest opponent of the initiative is the California Chamber of Commerce.”
