“The Latino immigrant community is abuzz with preparations for a nationwide work stoppage called for May 1 — and Salinas Latinos are no exception.
Dubbed “Great American Boycott of 2006″ or “A day without immigrants,” immigration reform advocates are asking supporters not to shop, go to work or send their children to school as a way of sending a message about the economic strength of the immigrant community.”
