“A growing number of undocumented immigrants are children, and thousands are caught crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally every year without a parent. What happens to these children when they’re taken into custody?
Children are smuggled into the United States every day.
“We’ve found them hidden in the engine compartment, underneath vehicles. We found a little girl hidden in a piñata. We find them very often hidden in the trunks of vehicles,” said Vince Bond, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.”
