Hispanic GOP pushes message, membership in Aurora, Illinois

“As one of the standard bearers for the Illinois Republican Party, Lieutenant Gov. candidate Joe Birkett had a succinct message for both parties Saturday.

“What we have to stop doing as officeholders, whether Republican or Democrat, is taking people of color for granted,” he said. “Hispanics are the largest energizing force not just here but across the nation.”

Birkett was one of the featured speakers at the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Illinois, Kane County Chapter, quarterly executive meeting, held at the offices of Una Voz, Inc. in downtown Aurora.”
