Intrigue at Univision Continues
Tagged: Carlos Slim, Mexico, televisa, Univision“Wall Street analysts were abuzz Thursday over the disclosure that Carlos Slim Domit, scion of Mexico’s wealthiest clan, has purchased a 2.8 percent stake in Univision Communications.
Of particular intrigue: Slim Domit, 39, sits on the board of directors of Grupo Televisa, one of Univision’s major shareholders and programmers that is suing the U.S. Hispanic media company.
Slim’s entry into Univision appears to give Televisa another ally in its battle or perhaps a candidate to be appointed to the Mexican company’s vacant seat on the Univision board of directors. “
