“People already were nervous in Richmond’s Hispanic community.

They wondered what’s going to happen to people who’ve come here illegally to find work. Businesses wondered what would happen if they employ them.

“There’s talk about this every day. Employers are very concerned, and the Hispanic community is very concerned,” said Michel Zajur, a local restaurateur who is president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

And that was before this week’s federal immigration crackdown on IFCO Systems.”
