“ce pitcher of the New York Mets, Pedro Martinez reached a plateau last night that many other pitchers in major league baseball history hasn’t — 200 career wins.

Against division rival, the Atlanta Braves, Martinez pitched a strong 6 2/3 innings to become the seventh active pitcher to reach 200 career victories.

Among Latinos, he became only the fourth pitcher to ever reach 200 career wins. He joins the elite group of fellow Dominican pitcher and Hall of famer, Juan Marichal (243 wins), Cuban pitcher Luis Tiant (229 wins) & Dennis Martinez of Nicaragua (245 wins)”
