Latina Lista: English-Speaking Latino Students Forced into English-As-A-Second Language Classes

“Just one day after the Associated Press reported that schools across the country were deliberately ignoring the test scores of too many students of color for fear of those students’ scores dragging down the rest of the campus, comes word that a Dallas elementary school is segregating Latino students.

What makes this case particularly bad is that the elementary school is rounding up some English-speaking Latino children and forcing them into the school’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program.”
