“A group of Hispanic parents sued the Dallas Independent School District and Preston Hollow Elementary School on Tuesday, alleging that the school segregates Hispanic students.

The suit, filed in federal court by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, asks a judge to immediately integrate certain classes, such as art and music.

Lead lawyer David Hinojosa, who is based in San Antonio, said he has also asked the judge to force the school to stop placing English-speaking Hispanic students into English as a second language classes, which are designed to help Spanish-speaking children adjust. Those classes are inferior to traditional classes, he said.”
