Knowledge is Power!

“In recent weeks, hundreds of thousands of Mexicans and other Hispanic immigrants staged demonstrations in several states protesting U. S. immigration policy. But when Hispanic school children raised an upside down American flag underneath a Mexican flag in Montebello, Calif., they may have inadvertently created a national symbol for our struggle with the issue of illegal immigration.

An American flag hanging upside down is a distress signal.

If activists behind the demonstrations supporting illegal immigrants wanted a symbol to further enflame the passions of the American public over the immigration issue, these students gave them one. Running it upside down underneath the Mexican flag creates a picture that says more about the issue than words can say.”
