“A civil rights organization has filed a discrimination lawsuit against a Northbrook masonry company, alleging managers routinely called nonwhite Hispanic workers names like “wetback” and “spic” and made Mexican employees stay on their own side of the work space.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court Thursday by the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, alleges that managers at Ceisel Masonry of Northbrook harassed more than 50 Hispanic workers from April 2002 to the present by humiliating them with names like “border jumpers,” “chicos” and “f—ing Mexicans.” Managers also made comments that Mexicans are “good for nothing” and “come to this country to use our welfare,” the suit says.”
