“The next stars of the urban Latin movement could come right out of Chicago.

That’s the hope of the local organizers behind Cuervoton, a national talent contest seeking “La Nueva Generacion” of the burgeoning reggaeton and hip-hop scene.

A semifinal round will be staged Wednesday night at the House of Blues, 329 N. Dearborn. The winner will go to New York for the finals and a chance to be signed to a major label. Before the competition, nationally recognized urban Latin artists Tony Touch, Chingo Bling, Los Yo Yais, Malverde, Notch and LDA will perform. The event is open to the public, and part of the proceeds will benefit LifeBeat, a music industry charity that promotes AIDS awareness.”
