“”Approximately 29 percent of our students are Hispanic,” said the Director of Pupil Services and Special Education.

Hispanic organizations said as that number continues to grow in Amsterdam, so does the need for the community to provide more resources in schools.

“You have parents complaining a lot that they don’t have a lot of resources and support when they go to schools. They don’t have bilingual people to help them out,” said BETAC Director Juan Vargas”
