“They wore white shirts, waved American flags and came by the tens of thousands to Buford Highway. On April 10, massive crowds of Hispanics marched to assert their legitimacy as Americans. Legislation concerning illegal immigration has prompted the Hispanic community of Atlanta and more than 100 other cities in the United States to march in protest.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2004, Hispanics make up 14.2 percent of the total U.S. population, while Habitat for Humanity reports that Atlanta’s Hispanic population has risen 362 percent since 1990. This increase in the Hispanic population is consequently changing the American music industry - specifically with reggaeton music.”
