“To address the needs of the largest growing ethnic population in Illinois, the Lewis University College of Education is hosting a one-day conference, Teaching Latina/Latino Students, Kindergarten through College on April 28.
In the past year, Lewis University has seen a 200 percent increase in the number of Latino students. The university has to address their needs, said Mary Selke, associate dean in the College of Education at Lewis University.
The one-day conference to be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. is geared to teachers of all grade levels. The deadline to apply is Tuesday.”
