“In Mexico, no major new polls this week, but the debate over how those polls are released to the media and whether they are biased continues. Also in Mexico, if you know about online political futures trading, you’ll find it significant that AMLO’s stock dropped from 75 to 59 dollars while Calderon’s went up from 16 to 31 (Madrazo sits at around 10). I think the volume on the trade is rather low, however, and is probably not significant in the same way it is for a UK or US election.
In Colombia, the latest RCN tracking poll shows President Uribe would win 66%. That poll came out on 10 April, and this week has since been very rough in the media for Uribe, so I wouldn’t be surprised if his numbers dropped a bit more by next week.”
