Thousands march in Seattle for immigrant rights. Washington
Tagged: border“Thousands of people ”” carrying signs, chanting and cheering ”” marched to a downtown rally in support of immigrant rights.
American flags fluttered the length of the throng, along with occasional Mexican banners.
Signs in the largely Hispanic crowd ranged from the earnest, “We love America and we work very hard” to the teasing, “Who’s going to mow your lawn, John?” One asked, “If corporations have no borders, why do workers?” From Casa Latina, a day-labor organization, came the message: “U.S. needs our labor, we need our dignity.”"
