“A rally planned in Jacksonville to show Hispanic solidarity as immigration measures are debated in Washington, was canceled Monday, leaving some to head to Wilmington for a peaceful rally there.

People of Latino descent in Onslow County were vocal in their support for the peaceful protests nationwide even if a local rally did not come off as planned. Hispanic marchers rallied in large North Carolina cities like Raleigh and Charlotte Monday while others joined together in small farming communities like Lenoir and Murphy, according to the Associated Press.”
