Immigrants rally for rights in Mississippi

“Chants of “Si! Se puede!” echoed through downtown Jackson on Monday as more than 400 people gathered around the state Capitol demanding immigration reform.

The cheer, meaning “Yes! We can!” erupted repeatedly throughout a two-hour rally where Mississippi residents - including mostly Hispanic workers from the state’s chicken plants and construction sites - waved American flags and held signs declaring their love of the United States.”
