“Despite the popularity of such home-grown artists as Juanes, Shakira and Paulina Rubio, overall sales of music fell in Latin America last year by 0.04 percent to $663.3 billion. That’s somewhat better than the change worldwide, where music sales fell by 3 percent, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), the London-based industry association represeting record labels worlwide.”
