“The Denver Post is reporting that Hispanic students were taunted with Mexican flags as tensions stirred up last week inside a high school in Colorado. Shortly after immigration rallies, Hispanic students at Skyline High School were taunted with U.S. flags waved in their faces, and a Mexican flag was thrown into the face of another student. Racial epithets were hurled from both sides of the debate. In order to make certain that things wouldn’t get out of hand Skyline Principal Tom Stumpf temporarily banned students from carrying or showing any flag, this included the American flag. This move only served to heighten tensions in a highly charged political environment.
The waiving of Mexican flags has become a point of contention over the past week with people angered that a foreign flag would be waived on United States soil. Now a video has surfaced showing the president waiving a Mexican flag providing more fodder for the debate.”
