“Their cardboard signs and their clothes soaked, more than 120 Corpus Christi Academy students lined the streets to honor civil rights leader Cesar Chavez.
This year, honoring Chavez went beyond the usual day off the charter school’s students receive to celebrate Cesar Chavez Day on March 31. The march is one of several celebrations scheduled over the next few days to honor Chavez, a civil rights and labor leader who struggled for equality and the rights of farm workers.”
