“More than 150 immigration supporters gathered at Linn Park on Friday to promote immigration reform now being debated in the U.S. Senate, similar to gatherings occurring around the country in recent days.

“We are trying to do something,” said Alejandra Ocampo, a Hoover social worker from Colombia. “I’m here legally, but it doesn’t matter about my status. I’m with my people.”
