“Alabama’s largest organization of commercial construction companies has publicly pledged to support its Hispanic workers, who make up an estimated 40 percent of the state’s construction crews.

“We’ve got to look after the community that’s taking care of us - the Hispanic work force,” said Jay Reed, vice president of Associated Builders and Contractors in Alabama. “We wanted to be among the first to say this community takes pride in their work, and we want to help them do their jobs safely and effectively.”"
