DosCentavos: More Proof That Mainstream Media Is Clueless

“I’ve heard from contacts around the state, including college professors, that some of their anti-immigrant students and friends are complaining about Marchers carrying Mexican flags, etc. Some, even using the “W” word, and I don’t mean Dubya. Well, if that’s all the mainstream media portrays, then that’s all anti-immigration and anti-Latino idgits are going to be talking about, so they will talk down the protesters without understanding everything about the issue or the reasoning behind the marches. But Hispanic media outlets have been great–they’ve even promoted the marches and protests nationwide.

AP reports on how mainstream media failed miserably at covering all aspects of the march–even the fact that Hispanic media covered it immensely and provided some strategic advice, such as wearing white clothing to symbolize peace, carrying American flags, taking their kids to assure less violence, and carrying trashbags so that the areas where they marched were left clean. (I would argue that those areas were left cleaner than before the marches!). So, organized, they were.”
