Actually, it’s more of an omission. It’s the void created by the lack of common knowledge about Mexican American history, especially among Mexican Americans born in the U.S.A.
We’re the biggest chunk of the Hispanic American demographic. But judging from the lack of information about our past, you’d think we were here merely as the help ”” which, for many, we are. It’s amazing that despite the fact many of us were around before Texas was even part of the union, a lot happened that most Americans don’t know about.”
