“Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone Friday announced that the city will partner with the Central Committee of War Veterans in an effort to form a new post for Hispanic US war veterans.

“From time-to-time my office receives phone calls from people looking for a Hispanic veterans post, either for themselves or for someone in their family,” the mayor said. “They’re looking for a place where they can congregate and feel like a part of a larger community. So we decided to partner with the Central Committee to seek out charter members of a new Hispanic veterans post here in Yonkers.””
