“Thousands of Hispanics from across the Carolinas marched in Charlotte on Saturday as hundreds of thousands of Latinos demonstrated across the country against proposals to crack down on illegal immigrants.

Organizers and police said 5,000 to 7,000 people rallied in Marshall Park, wearing white shirts, chanting in Spanish and English, and carrying signs with slogans such as “Am I Not a Human Being?”"
