“When Roberto R. Treviño was growing up in the predominantly Roman Catholic barrios of northeast Houston, he was the exception.
“I was one of the aleluyas, as they called (Protestants), but the world was Catholic,” said Treviño, whose family followed his mother’s Presbyterian faith. “I grew up in a culture that was very Catholic, and my closest friends and (my father’s) family was Catholic, so it intrigued me for the longest time.”"
