“Jeanne Keene, M.Ed is the creator of Mommy Teach Me Spanish!, a new way to for parents to teach their children Spanish. The program centers around the daily routines of children, including bedtime, mealtime, bath time and playtime. Parents do not need to have any exposure to Spanish prior to starting the program, making it accessible to all families.

As it is well known that second language acquisition is easier the younger one is, Keene decided to introduce her young son to Spanish. Keene envisioned a creative way to teach her son Spanish and to maintain his interest in learning. Keene built her program around her home. “We rediscovered our home and gave household objects exciting new names,” she said. She labeled objects in every room with Spanish words and turned the learning process into a game. A few years later, she started teaching Mommy Teach Me Spanish! Fiesta Friends classes for other interested parents and children in the community. “
