The couple decided to start a taxi service, Latino Taxi, which began running about a month ago. They say the language barrier keeps some local Hispanics from obtaining a driver’s license, buying a car or getting a taxi ride.
Now Leonel Martinez said he uses his 1999 Ford Taurus to drive 20 to 25 people back and forth to work in Owensboro and neighboring Ohio County. He said he works from 7 a.m. and drives sometimes into the night.”
