“Social-service groups and churches are trying to head off a proposed federal law that would make it a crime for them to offer assistance to immigrants who are in the country illegally.
In Central Florida, more than half of the estimated 30,000 farmworkers could be denied help such as clothing, meals and day care if the immigration bill, H.R. 4437, becomes law.”
