Groups battle truancy, dropout rates among Hispanics in Columbia, South Carolina

The group has launched a new program to pair Hispanic students with mentors who have successfully overcome the cultural diversity and language difficulties that often cause the students to become truant or drop out of school, said Ivan Segura, director of the group’s new REACH project.”
