“The college will receive about $2.5 million a year for five years to boost Hispanic student performance and work to prepare more Hispanic teachers. Other efforts will focus on preparing Hispanic students for college and create support systems.

Grants were awarded to applicants deemed Hispanic-serving institutions, meaning at least 25 percent of the student body is Hispanic. The BCC programs will be done on the South Campus in Pembroke Pines and the Davie Campus, which have 36 percent and 31 percent Hispanic enrollment, respectively.”
