The critics applaud his Comedy Central series “Mind of Mencia” for its brashness and honesty as he skewers ethnic , racism, immigration, war, and more. That show premieres its second season March 22. But first, there’s this taped stand-up hour featuring Mencia performing in front of a live audience at San Francisco’s Warfield (on Jan. 20). It finds the Type A comic working himself into his usual blunt lather with brutal rants about his favorite subjects: diversity, terrorism, religion and race, race, race. It’s funny stuff, but Mencia proves such a shrill broken record here that you find yourself tuning him out.”
