Knowledge is Power!

“The University of Tennessee is pleased to announce an inter-disciplinary, intercultural conference about the changing demographics of our state and about the new opportunities and challenges posed for receiving communities by the arrival of newcomers from Latin America. The conference is open to anyone whose practices are affected by the new immigration.
The focus of the conference will be on Latina/Latino immigration to Tennessee and to other “new destination” locations, such as the traditionally non-Latino Southeast and small-town/rural areas in the Midwest. Conference attendees hope to address issues to discuss and questions such as the impacts on receiving communities of new immigrantion, the impact on sending communities and what professionals in Tennessee need to know to perform competently and ethically in this new environment “
