“The University of Central Florida awarded an honorary doctor of public service to Puerto Rico Gov. Aní­bal Acevedo Vilá on Friday at the conclusion of the second annual Hispanic Summit in Orlando.

“I’m honored to receive this recognition from the University of Central Florida,” Acevedo Vilá told a crowd of several hundred at the closing luncheon at the Orange County Convention Center. “UCF has been a long-standing partner with this Hispanic community in this state and in my home of Puerto Rico and beyond.””
