“Dania Jai-Alai players are worried slot machines will cost them their jobs.

The fronton’s 50 players voted Tuesday night to start picketing the arena this week out of concern that jai-alai could be canceled once the fronton installs Las Vegas-style slot machines.

”This is what happened in Connecticut and Newport, Rhode Island,” said Riki Lasa, president of the International Jai Alai Players Association, which is affiliated with the United Auto Workers.”
