“Gilbert spoke Wednesday to a small crowd at the Gregg County Democratic Party headquarters on his “Round the Horn” campaign across Texas. The East Texas rancher also said voters will see Texas turn from a red to blue state, and candidates across the state who are Democrats at heart but running on a Republican ticket will fold back into the Democratic Party.

Gilbert, who is from Whitehouse, is running against Koecadee Melton Jr. of Fort Bend in the March 7 primary for the Democratic nomination. The winner will face Republican Todd Staples in the November general election.”
