Colorin Colorado has just launched a new, free parent newsletter in Spanish. Packed with relevant and practical information on how to help children become better readers, the newsletter is a great resource for teachers to reach out to the families of their Hispanic students.

Colorin Colorado has just launched a new, free parent newsletter in Spanish.  Packed with relevant and practical information on how to help children become better readers, the newsletter is a great resource for teachers to reach out to the families of their Hispanic students.

Focused on Pre-K to grade three, the most critical years for learning to read, the newsletter will center on the importance of good reading skills for school success, address issues specific to learning in two languages, include ways to improve reading at home, and offer a variety of ideas, tips and information. Teachers can print out the newsletter and send it home in students’ backpacks.

Colorín Colorado is a project of Reading Rockets, a national, multimedia initiative that provides information on teaching kids to read and helping those who struggle. Reading Rockets is a service of public television station WETA in Washington, D.C. and funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. The new parent newsletter and much of the Spanish-language content on the site is made possible by a grant from the National Institute for Literacy (NIFL).

Colorín Colorado acaba de lanzar un nuevo boletín informativo gratis en español. Lleno de información práctica y relevante sobre como ayudar a los niños a convertirse en buenos lectores, el boletín es un recurso estupendo para que las familias puedan ayudar a sus hijos salir adelante en la escuela.

El boletín informativo está enfocado a los años críticos para aprender a leer, pre-kinder a tercer grado de primaria. Se centra en la importancia de buenos hábitos de lectura para asegurar el éxito escolar, proporciona información sobre el aprender en dos idiomas, incluyendo maneras de mejorar la lectura en la casa, y ofrece una variedad de ideas, consejos e información.
