Knowledge is Power!
“The typical Cuban diet is chock full of viandas - vegetables. And Im not talking your standard every day veggies like spinach and brocolli and such. Im talking Cuban veggies - gourds and tubers. Calabaza is a gourd - a pumpkin like veggie that is used quite often in Cuban cuisine. As are the tubers malanga, boniato, yame.
Most supermarkets here in Miami carry a great assortment of Cuban veggies but some of us get our veggies and fruit somewhere else.”
