“Drug deals, domestic violence and muggings aren’t being reported to police in Salisbury, according to police and Hispanic activist Justiniano Leon.

“Hispanics do not trust the police because they are used to police abuse from different sources in the U.S and Latin America. So they don’t know the Salisbury police are different,” Leon said.

Leon says Hispanics are an easy target for criminals. He says they’re forced to live in bad neighborhoods, because they’re low paid and don’t speak English. In order to fix this, Leon suggests the city create a community liaison to the Hispanics.”
