“Puerto Rico’s governor wants to put an end to worries about an eventual closing of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration office in Orlando, after a political-budgetary tug of war on the island last year forced the Commonwealth government to shut down several offices in the U.S.
“It’s staying. There shouldn’t be any possible doubt about its continuance,” Anibal Acevedo Vila said in a telephone interview from La Fortaleza, Puerto Rico’s executive mansion.
Acevedo Vila will make his first visit to Central Florida as governor of the island Friday to address the 2006 Hispanic Summit, a two-day convention focused on Hispanic growth and business in the region.”
